1. Data Controller

The data controller is THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS, a non-profit organization incorporated under
Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code and an affiliated entity of the Organization of
American States (OAS).

Hereinafter, the organization will be referred to as "THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS". This Policy
describes how we collect, use, store, and protect the personal information that users provide through our
websites and digital platforms, as well as information that may be collected through other means related to
our programs, services, courses, or institutional activities. Access to and/or use of the platforms implies
acceptance of this Policy.

2. Personal Information We Collect and How We Obtain It

Personal information is any information that can be used to identify a natural person or representatives of
organizations that interact with THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS. We may collect personal information
through the following means:

a) Information provided directly by Users: full name, identity document, email address, phone number,
nationality, professional or educational information, organizational information, and résumés or other
information provided in volunteer or program participation processes.

b) Automatically collected information: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, pages
visited, date and time of access, and interactions within the site.

c) Information obtained from third parties: in some cases we may receive personal information from
partner organizations, educational institutions, or other entities collaborating with THE TRUST FOR THE
AMERICAS in the implementation of programs or initiatives.

3. Legal Basis for Data Processing

THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS processes users' personal data on the basis of the following legal

THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS does not sell or commercialize personal data. Personal information
may only be shared when the user's consent exists, when necessary for the execution of a program or
service, or when required by a legal obligation or competent authority.

In the framework of its programs, THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS works with local partner or
implementing organizations that enter participant data through the institutional platforms. Each organization
accesses only the data of its own participants. These organizations are required to process such data
exclusively for program purposes and in accordance with this Policy, and THE TRUST FOR THE
AMERICAS may suspend their access in the event of any non-compliance.

5. Use of Aggregated and Anonymized Information

THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS may use information in aggregated or anonymized form for research,
monitoring, evaluation, institutional reporting, and dissemination of program impact. Measures will be taken
to prevent individual identification of participants. Disclosure of personally identifiable information, such as
testimonials or success stories, will only be carried out with the prior, express, and informed consent of the
participant.

6. Accuracy of Data Provided

Users warrant that the personal data provided is truthful, complete, and up to date, and undertake to report
any changes. THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS may exclude from its services or platforms those users
who provide false or inaccurate information, without prejudice to applicable legal actions.

7. Data Retention

Personal data will be retained only for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, or
for the period required by applicable legal obligations. Once the purpose of processing has been fulfilled,
data may be deleted or anonymized.

8. Personal Data of Minors

THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS applies a reinforced protection regime for the processing of personal
data of minors, grounded in the OAS Updated Principles on Privacy and Personal Data Protection
(resolution AG/RES. 2974 (LI-O/21), 2021 — oas.org), the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
(ohchr.org), and the Montevideo Memorandum on data protection for children and adolescents on the
internet (2009 — oas.org), ensuring at all times the best interests of the child as the guiding principle.

Processing of minors' data requires prior, express, and informed consent from parents, guardians, or legal
representatives. Minors' data will not be sold, shared for commercial purposes, or used for advertising.
Reinforced technical security measures will be applied and, upon any deletion request, data will be
suppressed or anonymized within a maximum of 30 business days. In the event of a security breach, legal
representatives and competent authorities will be notified on a priority basis. In the absence of specific
national legislation, OAS 2021 Principles will apply as the minimum standard. For inquiries, contact

9. User Rights

Users may exercise the following rights recognized under applicable regulations:

  • Access to their personal data.
  • Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete information.

THE TRUST FOR THE AMERICAS adopts appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect

responsible for the privacy practices or content of such sites, and we recommend that users review the
